ATIA Raffle Winner #3, Diana is a TAB fan and we don’t blame her a bit. The MagniLink TAB is a revolutionary addition to the assistive technology world. We all love multi-use products. Do you remember when a cellular phone was a big as a building brick and just made phone calls? Today, there are people who run businesses, attend classes, and keep their families organized using just their mobile phone.
The MagniLink TAB is technically an assistive technology product. However, in this case, TAB means tablet; more specifically, it means Microsoft Surface Pro. When a person with impaired vision purchases a TAB, they get way more than an AT device. In reality, they purchase an amazing little computer with a distance camera and LVI’s top-notch software; all rolled into a well-designed package that is lightweight, foldable and wonderfully useful. An end user can install their favorite AT software, add an email client, and other programs necessary in their work, school or home life. |

We think these are some of the reasons that Diana, an AT Teacher/Trainer at Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services, Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired Division, told us the MagniLink TAB is her favorite LVI product!
Diana often attends LVI webinars. She loves the detailed descriptions of product features and the back and forth between LVI personnel as we present. Diana mentioned the presenters are passionate about the low vision products and dedicated to the task of spreading the word of the functionality and ease of use of LVI products such as the MagniLink TAB.
When asked what she hopes to learn at LVI’s virtual booth at ATIA, Diana said, “More about ALL of your products and how they can help clients in specific situations".

Congratulations, Vickie! Thanks for being part of our webinars and sharing the valuable information with individuals with low vision. |
By attending ATIA, Vickie will gain important knowledge about assistive technology products and the best way individuals can utilize these devices to increase their independence in order to seek and maintain employment. Vickie is looking forward to attending the ATIA Virtual Conference Monday, January 25th, and wrapping up Thursday, February 4th, 2021. This will be her first time attending ATIA, and she is looking forward to the events especially the live LVI America educational session – See Life’s Possibilities Clearly, on January 26th at 12:00 p.m. EST. ATIA Live Educational Sessions.
Vickie shared that she really enjoys attending the LVI America webinars because they have been consistently informative covering something different each time she attends. They also offer practical uses of the technology which assists her in working with her clients with low vision. Also, she likes that the presenter Charlie Collins uses the LVI technology daily to effectively perform his job. Vickie’s favorite LVI product is the MagniLink TAB because it is so portable, and the universal design allows for many uses for this incredible low-vision assistive technology.

Ken is an assistive technology instructor for students who are low vision and blind at Minnesota State Academy for the Blind. Below Ken shares why he is a regular attendee to the LVI America webinars.
Well COVID-19 has struck in many ways. It appears mostly bad, but there are some good things as well. One of the changes that I really like is that there are more educational webinars than ever before.
I have always enjoyed attending training for technology of any kind, but mostly when it involves information on solutions for people who are low vision, blind, and deaf-blind. I remember several years ago attending a conference and going to one of the sessions that was being offered on software solutions for individuals with low vision, and Kimberly Cline was the presenter providing a wonderful and very educational presentation. Now Kimberly is with LVI America and has teamed up with Charlie Collins, and they make an amazing webinar team!
I have always gone into a training with one thought in mind – when I walk away, did I gain any new knowledge? I believe that if a person walks away with just one piece of good information that you can use, it was well worth the time to attend. That is what keeps me coming back to the LVI America webinars because each time I attend, I learn some valuable information that I can share with my students and others.
I personally live the life of low vision, so I pay especially close attention to information that will help me and others that I work with. I am an assistive technology instructor for students who are low vision and blind at Minnesota State Academy for the Blind in Faribault, MN. For additional information about our academy, go to https://www.msa.state.mn.us/2/home.
As my teaching at the Academy does not let me take very much time off to attend conferences, I am excited to have won the LVI America ATIA raffle for a full sponsorship for the ATIA virtual conference starting Monday, January 25th and wrapping up Thursday, February 4th, 2021. This will be my first time ever attending, and I am very much looking forward to the events especially the live LVI America educational session – See Life’s Possibilities Clearly, on January 26th at 12:00 p.m. EST. ATIA Live Educational Sessions.
Many thanks to Kimberly, Charlie, Christofer and the entire LVI Low Vision International team for the informational webinars they regularly offer, and the opportunity to attend the ATIA 2021 Virtual Conference.
